Job Description

Overview:

As part of our growing Legal team, we are seeking a bilingual Administrative Assistant to support a wide range of legal and corporate functions. This role is critical in helping the team manage corporate governance, documentation, and regulatory research, with a strong emphasis on precise communication and high-quality written translation between Japanese and English.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Legal team with administrative duties, including managing documentation related to Board of Directors and shareholder meetings
  • Prepare, translate, and proofread legal documents and internal memos (JP ⇄ EN), ensuring accuracy and consistency
  • Conduct legal and regulatory research (e.g., privacy laws, financial regulations, funds transfer licensing) and summarize findings for internal use
  • Assist with company registration processes and filings
  • Maintain and organize legal records, databases, and filing systems
  • Coordinate with external legal advisors, regulators, and internal stakeholders
  • Support ad hoc projects related to new business areas (e.g., Anti-Money Laundering, data privacy)

Requirements

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in a legal, accounting, or professional services firm—or in-house legal/secretarial support
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Japanese and English
  • Exceptional attention to detail, especially in document management and translation
  • Experience or interest in legal research and compliance topics (e.g., privacy, licensing)
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Proactive, organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working with or supporting a Legal, Compliance, or Governance team
  • Familiarity with corporate governance in Japan (e.g., shareholder meetings, BOD documentation)
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks related to financial services or privacy laws
