Our client is a global freight forwarder based in Japan who is looking for an Aerospace Business Development & Service Delivery Manager to play a key role in expanding their business portfolio while ensuring seamless delivery of services to customers. This hybrid role is split between 70% business development and 30% service deliverables , focusing on driving volume growth and gross profit for the Aerospace vertical while maintaining high standards of service excellence. The main transport form us international airfreight logistics.
In this position, you will be responsible for building strong customer relationships, working closely with the sales, key account management (KAM), and pricing teams, and ensuring the successful implementation of new business. Additionally, you will ensure that working instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for customers in the Aerospace vertical are kept up-to-date and relevant.
Customer Relationship Management: Regularly meet with customers (and collaborate with KAM/sales teams where applicable) to understand their needs, foster strong relationships, and identify growth opportunities.
Volume & Gross Profit (GP) Growth: Develop and implement strategies to increase business volume and maximize gross profit within the Aerospace vertical.
Spot Quotes & Tenders: Collaborate with the pricing team to develop spot quotes and tenders that align with business goals and customer expectations.
New Business Implementation: Partner with the implementation manager to ensure the smooth onboarding of new customers and successful integration into our operational processes.
Working Instructions & SOPs: Ensure that working instructions and SOPs for the Aerospace verticals customers are continuously updated, ensuring operational consistency and service excellence.
Stakeholder Training: Provide internal training and ensure all relevant stakeholders are well-versed in the Aerospace-specific operations.
Air Logistics Knowledge: Minimum 2 years of experience in air logistics operations with a basic understanding of airfreight processes.
Aerospace Vertical Expertise: At least 2 years of experience in the Aerospace vertical, specifically in engine handling and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) operations.
Language Proficiency: Native or business-level Japanese proficiency for communication with local customers. English proficiency to read, write, and communicate effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
Aerospace Key Account Management (KAM) / Sales Experience: At least 3 years in a KAM or sales capacity within the Aerospace sector.
Aerospace Product Supervisory Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as a product supervisor in the Aerospace vertical.
Advanced Aerospace Knowledge: A deeper understanding of the Aerospace vertical (5+ years) is a plus.
Data Analytics & Presentation Skills: Strong ability to analyze data, generate insights, and present findings to key stakeholders.
