Who are we looking for?

The purpose of this position is the supporting of the commercial expansion of Alpha products into Circuit Board Assembly market in Asia, with Japan in focus by supporting the Laboratory functions in Hiratsuka, Japan. The main focus of this role is to support activities that focus around the assembly and testing of Circuit Board Assembly. Activities include, but not limited to running equipment and conducting customer failure mode analysis as well as support internal development projects.

What will you be doing?

• Work closely with Laboratory co- workers on a daily basis and report to the Regional Director.
• Be responsible to maintain 5S on the laboratory so to operate safely.
• Be responsible for running specific processing equipment in the Laboratory in Hiratsuka. These include P&P machines, Reflow ovens, SPI, Printing systems, Environmental test chambers, viscometer, rheometer, SEM/EDX amongst others.
• Conduct periodical maintenance of Equipment-of-Responsibility, making sure that equipment is always in optimum working condition.
• Be capable to support colleagues by preparing samples and running analytical equipment as needed.
• Support sample build campaigns by designing, commission-for-build and use specialist tools for handling and processing.
• Conduct failure mode analysis routines, identify defects and involved materials and provide improvement solutions.
• Support in writing technical papers, presentations, etc to support the commercial team.
• Be able to travel in globally and engage in customer support through business meetings and production line process optimization activities when necessary.
• Work with global team in delivering complex multi-site projects as necessary.

Who are You?

To successfully accomplish the essential duties of this job the incumbent of this position must possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (B. S.) in a technical discipline and three years in the Circuit board Assembly field. Shown capacity of being to handle manual work, including basic machine assembly and disassembly for maintenance and modification is required. Advanced technical and/or engineering degree is preferred.

What competencies will you need?

To successfully accomplish the essential duties of this job, the candidate must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents, and respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Full fluency in English and Japanese are required. The candidate must possess skills that allow him/her to prepare effective Design of Experiments and run statistical analysis.
