Core Responsibilities:
Beverage Preparation and Service:

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes and customer preferences.
• Mix cocktails, pour beer and wine, and prepare other drinks with precision and efficiency.
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of drink recipes, ingredients, and preparation techniques.
• Create and recommend drink specials and new cocktails.

Hospitality:

• Greet and interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner.
• Take drink orders, answer questions about menu items, and provide recommendations.
• Ensure guest satisfaction by addressing concerns and resolving issues promptly.
• Build rapport with regular guests and create a welcoming atmosphere.

Bar Maintenance and Operations:

• Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including glassware, utensils, and equipment.
• Stock and replenish bar supplies, including liquor, beer, wine, mixers, and garnishes.
• Monitor and manage inventory, reporting shortages or discrepancies to management.
• Operate and maintain bar equipment, such as blenders, shakers, and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Handle cash and card transactions accurately.

Responsible Alcohol Service:

• Verify the age of guests and ensure compliance with legal drinking age requirements.
• Monitor customer alcohol consumption and intervene when necessary to prevent over-intoxication.
• Adhere to responsible alcohol service guidelines and regulations.
• Refuse service to intoxicated patrons.

Teamwork and Communication:

• Collaborate with other bar staff and restaurant personnel to ensure efficient service.
• Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
• Follow instructions from management and adhere to established policies and procedures.

Other Duties:

• Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up and breaking down the bar.
• May assist with food preparation or service as needed.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

• 4 years experience as a Bartender in a fast-paced environment.
• Extensive knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to handle cash and operate POS systems.
• Knowledge of responsible alcohol service practices.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
• Relevant certifications above and beyond Smart Serve an asset
• A friendly and outgoing personality with a neat, clean and stylish appearance.
