Christian ESL Teacher - Wakakusa English School
1. ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Beginning in 1982, the Wakakusa English Program is a ministry that provides a Christian presence in the city of Tamura, Japan by sending English speakers from America into Japanese schools as English teachers and assistant English teachers. The Wakakusa English Program serves the community through its excellence in teaching, and by promoting international and cross-cultural understanding. Ultimately, Wakakusa demonstrates the love of Christ through teaching, through relationships within the Wakakusa team, and through its service to the Japanese community around us.
2. QUALIFICATIONS
-University graduate with a bachelors and/or more advanced degree
-Native English Speaker and citizen from either Canada or the US.
-Japanese language ability is not required, but is recommended.
3. CONTRACT PERIOD
– 1 year commitment and 2 year intention beginning the end of March 2025.
– M-F @ 7:30-3:30. Paid vacation in the winter for 2 weeks, summer 2 weeks, Spring for 1 week as well as various national holidays.
4. COMPENSATION
-Starting salary of 300,000 yen/month (Salary increases each year)
5. ADDITIONAL BENEFITS
-Housing is arranged for @50,000/month covering rent, utilities, and internet.
-Flight to and from Japan
