Definition of work:
The clinical occupational therapist I reports to the Regional Manager of Rehabilitative Services (with clinical supervision and professional practice oversight provided by the Occupational Therapy Clinical Lead). This occupational therapy position is a highly independent clinical position with the primary purpose of facilitating optimal occupational performance of clients with a wide variety of physical, cognitive, developmental or environmentally induced impairments. Clinical work will involve assessment, development of treatment plans, implementation and evaluation of clinical outcomes for clients with occupational performance impairments for inpatient and outpatient services. The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements.
Required qualifications:
* Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an approved university.
* Eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists.
* Registered with the Newfoundland and Labrador Occupational Therapy Licensing Board.
* Demonstrated research, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
* A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
* Consistent demonstration of NLHS corporate values; Innovation, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence (I-CARE)
* A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.
