The Accounting intern/co-op, under the direction of the Accounting Manager in our Toronto head office is responsible for assisting accurately and confidently with account reconciliations and journal entries. The incumbent of this position must be able to perform day-to-day activities such as maintaining the general ledger and entering invoices and payroll entries into systems. While supporting Aecon's vision, mission, and goals, the intern (co-op student) performs administrative and additional tasks on a regular basis, as required.

What You’ll Do Here:

  • Account Reconciliations
  • Journal Entries
  • Setting up tasks, cost codes, contracts and budgets
  • Assist project accountants in preparing invoices
  • Payroll entry support in SAP
  • Participate in special projects - financial analysis/quality checks

What You Bring to the Team:

  • General knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheets and database programs
  • Respect confidentiality
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Perform multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Enrolment in a co-op program in finance or business
  • Follow the instructions provided verbally or in writing
