What you'll be doing
The Consultant, Physical Security will be part of the Enterprise Physical Security team within Corporate Security and accountable for supporting the delivery of the Global Security Operations Centre (GSOC) program. The Consultant, Physical Security is responsible for supporting physical security related activities; including the strategy, implementation, maintenance and life cycle management of CIBC’s global security operations center (GSOC). This involves the development and maintenance of tools (e.g. SharePoint, databases, websites, MS Office templates), the development of management reporting materials and supporting ongoing program governance initiatives.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
How You’ll Succeed
- Relationship Management - Liaise with stakeholders to support CIBC’s physical security efforts. This will include establishing lines of communication and a network of good professional relationships. Providing advice and support to various internal stakeholders on the overall physical security systems program and associated administration.
- Vendor Management - Oversight and management of contracted physical security systems suppliers and ensure vendor compliance with SLA/KPI’s.
- Improving Process Efficiency – Identify, develop and implement routine operational process enhancements to increase the team’s efficiency.
- Physical Security Standards – Development and management of associated security systems standards to safeguard CIBC’s tangible and intangible assets. Identifying, evaluating and recommending methods to mitigate threats to people, property, and information.
- Program Governance – Monitor effectiveness of programs and report on associated metrics. Ensure associated documentation is maintained according to records retention policies. Developing governance and oversight strategies necessary to fulfill monitoring and reporting accountabilities for standards. Perform reviews of CIBC’s Corporate Security Standards, updating as necessary to ensure the standards reflect the evolving operating and threat environment.
Who You Are
- You can demonstrate 3+ years of experience in supporting a global physical security operations center program. Possession of a professional designation in the security and/or security system design field such as ones available from ASIS International (CPP, PSP) would be beneficial.
