Servus is growing! We are currently looking for a Content Strategist, Digital Media to join our Marketing team.

Reporting to the Leader of Marketing Planning, their primary goal is to engage internal and external stakeholders using their strategic and creative skills to develop and optimize digital-first content strategies to achieve Servus Credit Union’s strategic objectives.

The Content Strategist, Digital Media will use their advanced knowledge and experience to leverage performance data and insights to determine the best way to engage audiences throughout the purchase funnel for all lines of business. They are responsible for planning omnichannel content strategies across paid, owned, and earned platforms, leveraging the relevant strengths of traditional and more deeply, digital performance marketing, paid media, and content targeted strategies

Strong communication skills, leadership skills, relationship skills, analytical skills, business savvy, brand knowledge, and the ability to multitask are all essential. They will liaise internally with various peers and senior partners, and externally with agency partners to drive the development of effective content that supports business objectives.

As an experienced Content Strategist in Digital Media, you will be responsible for mentoring, guiding and teaching team members and will act as a source of Digital Media strategy knowledge and support across the organization.

More specifically, the scope of your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Strategy & Planning

  • Develop, plan, present and implement strategic content recommendations for marketing across multiple channels, with a specialization in digital paid media platforms for various target audiences to drive business growth.
  • Use analytics and performance metrics to determine the best way to engage users, generate leads, optimize content and measure brand awareness.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to establish and articulate internal and external key messages and ensure that content is aligned accordingly.
  • Understands target audience demographics, advertising trends and best practices to deliver targeted content.
  • Collaborate with media buyers, creative teams, and platform specialists, UX designers, content management system developers, and marketers to deliver stories that are aligned with business goals.
  • Track ad and campaign performance, generate reports, identify and apply learnings, and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Stay up to date on innovative advertising practices, and emerging technologies in paid media and content marketing.
  • Ensure close collaboration within/between teams to effectively develop and deliver content in support of campaign, channel, team and individual needs, Servus strategic priorities, and expected results for all lines of business.
  • Work with others to evaluate, recommend and prepare content material.

Project Communications

  • Responsible for projects ranging from mid to large complexity
  • Foster and build positive relationships with project/Agile teams and other key senior stakeholders.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to establish and articulate key messages and ensure that content is aligned accordingly.
  • Work with editors, writers, UX designers, content management system developers, and marketers to deliver stories that are aligned with business goals. 

Technology, insights and analytics

  • Utilize modern content marketing platforms and marketing automation tools, both existing and emerging, to best achieve desired outcomes.
  • Leverage behavioral and audience analytics to determine the best way to engage users, increase customer loyalty, generate leads, and drive brand awareness.
  • Recommend new ways to measure content effectiveness. This includes A/B testing, campaign reporting dashboards, and conversion tracking.
  • Use understanding of SEO, keyword research, information architecture, and usability best practices to deliver targeted content. Familiarity with CMS platforms (e.g., Sitecore, Umbraco etc.) and digital ad tools (e.g., Google Ads, Meta Ads etc.) is preferred.

Leadership

  • Provide content strategy advice and support to Marketing, Communications, Digital and other divisions across the organization.
  • Champion positive and productive working relationships across all teams and with other key stakeholder teams and departments.
  • Conduct, attend and fully participate in team, division and department meetings and activities.
  • Ensure adherence to all corporate policies and procedures.
  • Coach peers to grow understanding and application of content strategy best practices whenever possible

Requirements

Experience:

  • A minimum of five years of professional experience in Marketing with proven experience in digital media planning and buying, performance tracking and analysis, and SEO strategies.
  • Experience in developing and executing complex strategic marketing content plans, user journeys, content production, and content optimization.
  • Expertise with Google Ads and Google Analytics.
  • Solid knowledge of direct and digital marketing, advertising, branding, promotions, events, public relations, sponsorships, and sales.
  • Has worked in a strategic manner with mid-to-senior level clients.
  • Experience in the financial industry is an asset.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment is an asset.

Education:

  • A university degree or college diploma related to Marketing
  • Certifications in content marketing, advertising, digital media, analytics, SEO or related training
