On behalf of our client, Affinity is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to contribute to our client’s network segmentation project, designing and implementing secure network architectures to safeguard sensitive data. You will monitor threats, configure advanced security controls, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. We’re looking for a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong network security expertise to deliver exceptional results for our client.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement network segmentation strategies to isolate critical systems and protect sensitive healthcare data for our client.
  • Monitor network traffic and security systems, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and SIEM platforms, to detect and respond to potential threats.
  • Conduct in-depth vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate risks within segmented network environments.
  • Analyze security logs and alerts to investigate and resolve suspicious activities or incidents efficiently.
  • Collaborate with Affinity’s project team and the client’s IT and network teams to configure secure network zones, VLANs, and access controls.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH) and industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive security policies, procedures, and documentation for network segmentation.
  • Stay current on emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices in network security.
  • Support the development and testing of disaster recovery and incident response plans for networked systems.
  • Provide detailed updates and reports to Affinity and the client on project progress and security findings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 4+ years of experience in cybersecurity or IT, with a strong focus on network security or network segmentation.
  • Proficiency with network security tools such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar), and endpoint protection solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate remotely and convey complex security concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the healthcare industry, with knowledge of HIPAA or HITECH compliance, is a plus but not required.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC).
