Job Description
Cyber Security Specialist is an entry level job to become acclimated to the defense requirements of an ever-changing threat landscape. This position is intended to take a person with the aptitude and drive who wishes to begin a career in Blue Team cyber security and bring them to the skill level of a Cyber Security Professional.
- Initial triage and investigation of various security alerts and ensuring they are escalated appropriately in a timely manner.
- Working closely with team members, sharing knowledge, and handover of investigations.
- Documenting security incidents, and cyber security procedures.
- Assist Cyber Security Professionals with SIEM infrastructure management.
- Keeping up to date with the latest threats, vulnerabilities, and trends in cyber security.
- Test incident response procedures through exercises
- Following organizational security policies, procedures, and best practices.
- On-call incident response duties (rotating basis).
- REQUIRED
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related engineering discipline required, or equivalent years of relevant professional experience.
- Relentless enthusiasm, and an inner drive to learn new skills.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a dynamic, fast-paced technical environment.
- Ability to work a rotating on-call schedule outside of normal business hours.
- PREFERRED
- Entry-level position: no prior experience required but any relevant experience is a plus.
