Job Description

Salary: $126,000 - 171,000 per year Requirements:

  • We seek candidates with significant experience in application development, large data management solutions, and information handling at the enterprise level, along with a profound understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC). You should possess in-depth knowledge of architectural principles and services essential for crafting technical cloud strategies and evaluating workload architectures, enabling you to provide guidance on addressing high-risk issues. The ideal candidate will have the ability to manage extensive vendor teams across multiple regions and experience in large, complex multinational financial data environments. Familiarity with the insurance industry, particularly in the property and casualty domain, is highly desirable. Business acumen relating to insurance metrics and financials, along with the ability to operate under tight delivery deadlines and budget constraints, is crucial. You should also have proven skills in providing technical expertise and project leadership through industry research and technology recommendations. Understanding both long-term and short-term perspectives is necessary, as are effective communication skills and facilitation experience with business and technology stakeholders. A self-motivated attitude to identify and swiftly resolve issues, adaptability in a fast-paced environment, and familiarity with Agile methodologies are essential.
Responsibilities:
  • As a Data Engineering Assistant Vice President (AVP) within our AIG Data Office, you will lead the technical delivery of large, mission-critical initiatives, starting with a multi-year financial transformation program for commercial insurance. You will manage outsourced technical delivery teams to ensure timely execution of data pipelines across various functional areas, like finance and actuarial systems, maintaining high quality and continuous innovation. Establishing best practices and offering guidance for scalable, secure, resilient, and efficient data cloud solutions will be key responsibilities. You will serve as a Technical Subject Matter Expert for data programs, guiding technology selection focusing on efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and time to market, while recommending modernizations to the data application portfolio to reduce operational costs and minimize technical debt. Building strong relationships with business and IT stakeholders is crucial, as is ensuring compliance with industry and AIG security standards throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC). You will maintain high-quality delivery across multiple vendor teams situated in different geographic locations.
