Daily Bread Food Bank works towards long-term solutions to end hunger and poverty and runs innovative programs to support individuals living on low incomes and experiencing food insecurity. Daily Bread distributes fresh and shelf-stable food, and fresh-cooked meals to 129 member agencies and 205 food programs across Toronto. Daily Bread also publishes the influential Who’s Hungry report - an annual survey measuring trends in food insecurity and poverty in Toronto to educate the public and spark policy change.
Job Title Data Entry Clerk
Reporting to Manager, Development Operations
Location 191 New Toronto Street, Toronto, ON M8V 2E7
Term of Contract Full-Time Contract for 8 weeks, 35 hours per week; the start date will be in May 2025; On-Site
Wage Rate $18.75 per hour
To be eligible, participants must:
Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment.
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
- International students are not eligible participants . As the objective of the CSJ program is to support youth entering the Canadian labour market, the temporary nature of an international student's time in Canada does not allow for a long-term connection to the labour market.
Important Notice: This role may be funded, so please ensure you meet the above criteria. Responsibilities - Update, store, and retrieve information as needed.
- Enter data into the CRM database.
- Maintain related logs, records, and files.
- Prepare a variety of standardized reports while utilizing Excel and Word applications.
- Receive, answer and redirect telephone calls and donor’s email to intended recipients within the department.
- Process, file and photocopy various donation documents.
- Additional responsibilities related to these areas as required.
Education/Experience - Experience with CRM database preferred.
- Data Entry Experience
- Administrative accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Preferably some fundraising, business, or communications-related courses.
Key Competencies - Working knowledge of general business/clerical skills.
- Proficient problem-solving skills, prioritizing and managing conflicting needs and deadlines.
- Ability to respond quickly and effectively to challenging situations.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently.
