Summary:
This role focuses on conducting independent validations and effective challenges of a wide range of financial and risk models, including AI/ML and scorecard models. The position requires strong technical and regulatory expertise in model risk management, along with hands-on experience in statistical programming and banking domain knowledge.

• Location: Riverwoods, IL 60015

• Work Mode: Hybrid Prefered / Remote

Responsibilities:

• Execute validations for financial, credit, AML, and AI/ML models in compliance with governance standards

• Independently assess and challenge model design, performance, and assumptions

• Maintain validation documentation and present results to senior management and regulators

• Identify and communicate emerging model risk issues across the enterprise

• Participate in the development and enforcement of model risk policies and standards

• Interact with regulators and auditors to demonstrate validation process soundness

Skills/Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in model validation or development, particularly in AI/ML models (e.g., random forest, XGBoost, neural networks)

• Strong programming skills in Python, R, and SQL

• Solid background in statistics, econometrics, mathematics, or finance

• Experience validating models in areas such as credit acquisition, fraud detection, marketing, and collections

• Familiarity with banking operations, credit card products, Fair Lending policies, and financial regulations

• Proven ability to challenge model performance and assumptions effectively

• Experience preparing reports and documentation for internal and external review
