Auxiliary On call/Part time
This is an auxiliary on-call/part-time position. This means hours are not guaranteed and will vary depending on scheduling needs, program funding, and community requests. The position is ideal for someone who is flexible, enjoys variety, and is available to work as needed.
Teaching hours are primarily weekdays (Monday-Friday) between the hours of 10:00 am and 5:00 pm.

Are you enthusiastic about teaching technology and helping others improve digital literacy? Yukon Learn Society (YLS) is seeking a Technologies Instructor to deliver beginner-level courses on Microsoft Office, cybersecurity, smart devices, internet skills, and more.

As a Technology Instructor, you will inspire and educate adults in the Yukon, helping them navigate essential digital tools and technologies. Your role involves working with adult students and seniors, both one-on-one and in small groups, to foster a supportive learning environment. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to travel to communities across the Yukon, providing instruction and support to adult learners throughout the territory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and conduct lessons on technology and digital literacy.
• Instruct both group and one-on-one sessions, in person and online.
• Develop and maintain effective curriculum and instructional materials as needed.
• Manage client cases, including assessments and progress tracking.
• Collaborate with other YLS instructors and partners.
• Stay current with the latest technologies and adult education trends.
• Provide basic tech support to staff, tutors, volunteers, and clients.
• Research and recommend useful technologies for learners.
• Participate in yearly fundraising activities.

Qualifications:

• Background in education, technology, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of technology and adult literacy issues.
• Proficiency with popular devices and software (Windows, Mac OS, Microsoft Office, smartphones, cybersecurity, tablets).
• Understanding of learning disabilities and Yukon community dynamics.
• Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills.
• Frist Nations 101 course, or equivalent experience an asset.

Conditions of Employment:

• Completion of a Criminal Record Check.
• Valid Yukon Driver's License.
• Travel to Yukon Communities.
