**Position Overview:**
The EKG Technician plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of cardiovascular diagnostic services within the Non-Invasive Cardiology department. This position is responsible for performing outpatient EKGs and processing EKGs performed across hospital nursing units, including monitoring worklists and ensuring timely documentation.
In addition to clinical tasks, the EKG Technician provides clerical and administrative support for echocardiography services, such as answering phone calls, scheduling outpatient echo appointments, and dispatching cardiac sonographers for inpatient and procedural coverage. The ideal candidate brings a solid cardiovascular background paired with strong clerical and communication skills.
Performs routine and specialized non-invasive cardiac procedures as ordered by the physician for the diagnosis, treatment, monitoring and prevention of injury or disease. Works independently, exercising sound judgment, and developed clinical skills to execute safe and precise procedures to deliver accurate results to physician in a timely manner. Gains confidence and cooperation from the patient, their family/support group, and other healthcare providers through competent patient assessment, attentive monitoring and care, and effective communication. Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care.

**EDUCATION:**
+ HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience
**CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:**
+ BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
**TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:**
+ 1-year recent relevant experience
**SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:**
+ In-depth knowledge of cardiac testing, mechanics and equipment.
+ Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
+ Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, chemistry, and medical terminology.
+ Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.
+ Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadline.

Pay Range is $30.78 to $38.47 / hour
_The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
