As an Embedded Software Engineer V , you will play a key role in the development of next-generation aviation battery systems. You'll lead critical software engineering projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement embedded software solutions. Your expertise will help shape the future of battery management systems, ensuring they meet stringent safety, performance, and regulatory standards.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing embedded software for real-time, safety-critical applications. You will write, test, and debug C/C++ code, working closely with hardware and systems engineers to ensure seamless integration. You will also support FAA certification efforts by providing documentation and validation for compliance. Additionally, you will analyze existing software, introduce new features, and optimize system performance. As a senior-level engineer, you will mentor junior team members and contribute to technical decision-making.
To be successful in this role, you must have a bachelor's degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering or Computer Science with 10+ years of progressive engineering experience, or a master's degree with 5+ years of experience. You should have expertise in C/C++ programming for real-time embedded systems, as well as deep knowledge of ARM Cortex-M architecture. Strong experience in peripheral driver development, interrupt handling, DMA, and bus protocols such as CAN, ARINC429, ARINC825, SPI, I2C, and Ethernet is essential. You should also have proficiency in software unit testing, integration testing, and debugging tools such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
Preferred qualifications include a master's degree in a related field, 5+ years of experience in safety-critical software development, and experience with certification processes for battery management systems or fault-tolerant embedded systems. Familiarity with development tools such as GIT, JIRA, and Linux-based environments, as well as industry standards like DO-178C, DO-254, and DO-330, is highly desirable.
