Universal Alloy Corporation (UAC) is a global leader in the manufacture of aerospace products. UAC supplies aircraft manufacturers and their subcontractors worldwide and has served the aircraft industry for over four decades. UAC specializes in 2000- and 7000-series alloys and offers a full range of alloys and tempers that can be tailored to a customer’s particular application.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Exercise and promote safety. Proper usage of all PPE when working in the Mfg. areas of the plant.
• Assist staff with the following tasks:
  • Incident investigations and following up on near misses.
  • Complete regular safety inspections.
  • Participate in plant-wide safety audits.
  • Create toolbox talks related to safety topics.
  • Assist with both small and large-scale safety projects.
  • Recommend and assist with the implementation of corrective actions on audit findings and responses to incidents.
  • Conduct stormwater sampling and inspections that comply with the company’s Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan.
  • Engage with employees at all organizational levels to promote a safe work culture and environment focus on continuous improvement.
  • Assist with updating and tracking EHS data and information
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Rising Junior or Senior
• At Least 17 years old

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges
• Great communicator
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work with Microsoft office products on computers, especially Excel spreadsheets.
• Good reasoning and decision-making skills.
• Ability to carry out instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

• Understanding of what we do here at UAC and understand how what they are assigned to do during the internship impacts our business

Safety

All UAC employees must know and follow job safety procedures, attend required health and safety training, proactively promote safety at work, and promptly report actual and potential accidents and injuries. Employee must understand the PPE and wear it properly.
