Based out of the Toronto office, the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist will report to the Director of Environmental and Health & Safety. The EHS Specialist will support and oversee building level EHS matters for the QuadReal Canadian Portfolio. The Specialist will need to balance a strong attention to detail with the ability to organize, prioritize and manage projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Support Property and Operations Teams with maintaining Environmental and Health and Safety Compliance, by providing guidance and oversight on EHS related work (i.e., asbestos, mould, hazardous building materials, etc.).
• Coordinate national portfolio programs related to indoor environmental risks (i.e., Asbestos, Indoor Air Quality, etc.) for QuadReal's domestic properties.
• Assist with updating and revising QuadReal's EHS policies related to indoor building risks based on legislation and regulatory updates.
• Oversee and support Eastern Joint Health and Safety Committees, Eastern Regional Health and Safety Committee and Local Health & Safety Representatives.
• Organize and manage QuadReal's indoor environmental data via an online Environmental Management System.
• Conduct environmental and/or health and safety audits at properties to ensure they in compliance with QuadReal's EHS polices and procedures.
• Assist with identifying, developing and conducting necessary EHS training programs.
• Assist with other Environmental and Health and Safety work, as required.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Completion of post-secondary Environmental Program with a focus on Environmental Assessment and/or Health and Safety.
• A minimum of 3-5 years experience in the field of Environmental, Health and Safety.
• Working knowledge of property operations and base building equipment.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, in order to communicate effectively with property teams.
• A strong work ethic including the ability to work independently and multitask.
• Passion for environmental compliance and management
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint
• Willingness to travel
