Job Description

You have excellent attention to detail, and someone who takes pride in their work. Reporting to the Head of Pre-Construction you will be responsible for preparing estimates for a variety of exciting construction projects, including residential, commercial, office, and hospitality.

About The Role

People Interactions

  • Interact with and support chief estimator, pre-construction director, project directors, project managers and coordinators.
  • Works closely with our external stakeholders e.g., Clients, consultants, and trade contractors.

Project delivery

  • Perform quantity takeoffs to Marcon and industry standards.
  • Solicits sub trade and supplier pricing quotes and administers sub trade database.
  • Assists in the preparation of drawing reviews, including coordinating RFI’s from sub trades to consultants.
  • Develops the estimate under supervision, preparing direct and indirect costs.
  • Incorporates requirements from drawings and specifications into estimate.
  • Assists in the preparation of construction schedules.
  • Reviews and analyzes quotes, providing data to support trade selection.
  • Technology
  • Strong computer background including experience with MS Office, On-Screen Takeoff, and Bluebeam
  • Experience with 3D quantification and ProCore would be an asset.
  • Familiarity with construction documents and the ability to assist with construction document review.

About You

  • 2+ years of estimating experience including residential & commercial market experience preferably (high and low-rise)
  • College diploma or university degree in construction management or civil engineering
  • Experience in wood frame construction is preferrable but not necessary.
  • Ability to conduct multi-tasking in an organized fashion
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
  • Must enjoy working with people, and be highly organized

The compensation range for this role is $80,000 to $100,000 annually, depending on candidate experience and qualifications.
