  • Ensure all departments are profitable and maintain strong working relationships with our teams.
  • Support Sales duties including marketing calls, attending community business functions, qualifying and retaining in-house groups and corporate business, and assisting Director of Sales and the Sales manager with hotel sales and pricing strategies.
  • Meet all Accounts Receivable standards, and conduct monthly calls to ensure aging is current.
  • Review financial reports and statements to understand and be accountable for both hotel's performance versus budget and expenses.
  • Work to determine areas of concern and develop strategies to improve performance.
  • Ensure staff receives required training for each position as per the Hilton brand while meeting corporate standard operating procedures.
  • Regularly conduct staff meetings with department heads and keep open communication with the teams.
  • Adhere to all brand standards and company procedures, regulations, and standard operating procedures.
  • Allocate funds, authorize expenditures, and complete in budget planning.
  • Review monthly financial reports while understanding at all times where the hotel stands against the budget.
  • Manage the HR functions of the hotel by managing turnover, recruitment and motivating employees, focusing on employee development and retention.
  • Be responsible/accountable for Quality Assurance audits either by Hilton or applicable bodies.
  • Protect the hotel and its assets through enforcing and maintaining a preventative maintenance program.
  • Coordinate capital improvement projects to maintain quality standards and property image, and to protect the asset from neglect, damage or deterioration.
  • Provide a professional image at all times through appearance and dress and set an example to the teams.
  • Be accountable for the guest service and reputation of the hotels by responding to guests in a timely and professional manner to guest through all corresponding channels to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Follow company policies and procedures and effectively communicate them to team members.
  • Ensure the hotels are in compliance with all federal, provincial and local laws, including Wage Hour and Health laws.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 year General Manager experience in a fill-service branded property
  • Strong knowledge extended stay market and F&B an asset
  • Superior Revenue Management skills and understanding of Revenue Management systems in a hotel environment;
  • Hilton (or Marriott / big brand hotel) experience is strongly preferred
  • Passion to provide exemplary guest service
  • Ability to create and develop a dynamic team
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Strong Computer Skills in hotel operating systems is a must
  • Degree in Hotel or Hospitality Management
