Job Description

PPS is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Graveyard Press Operator for our state-of-the-art new aluminum extrusion facility in Phoenix. Operators are responsible for running their part of the extrusion press, working together with other operators and press helpers to ensure consistent product output that meets quality standards and customer requirements. This is a full-time, permanent, direct hire role with second-to-none benefits and a high ceiling for growth!

Responsibilities:  

• Operate large industrial equipment, mainly an extrusion press (manual, semi, and fully-automatic) with a puller machine, cooling bed, and age oven
• Read work orders and set up dies, billets, temperatures, and speeds on an individual job basis.
• Read blueprints and use precision measuring devices to ensure product is to customer specs and quality requirements.
• Comply with all policies and procedures in accordance with our quality management system
• Maintain full working knowledge of all equipment associated with the job.
• Operate a forklift.
• Adhere to and promote all safety requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:

• 2+ years large machine operation experience
• Experience performing machine set-up
• Metals extrusion industry experience highly preferred
• Ability to read blueprints/schematics/drawings/written instructions
• Experience with measurement instruments and meeting quality standards
• Ability to perform simple calculations
• Team collaboration experience, strong communication skills, and multi-tasking
• Strong ability to work independently with limited supervision
• Safety, attendance, and punctuality are required
