About the Body Shop Technician roll: The Body Shop Technician will work in a fast-paced environment where you will work with the shop foreman to repair and replace damaged heavy duty equipment structures and interior and exterior finishes. This role offers challenges as you’ll have a chance to work with the latest technology, giving you an opportunity to showcase your skills and experience. If you are an independent problem-solver with a passion for the industry, we want you to be a valuable member of the GreatWest Kenworth team. Your day to day will include:

  • Maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all truck body / structural systems used in the Kenworth product line or similar products.
  • Interpret work orders and technical manuals on paper and in PC-based formats.
  • Backup painter for main Maintain personal and company tooling that gets used to do the job.
  • Repair body and structural damage/ defects.
  • Clean, prep, and paint to provide a high-quality finished product.
Key Skills and Experience Requirements:
  • Read and use documents.
  • Be able to think, plan, make decisions and problem-solve to complete jobs.
  • The ability to withstand work-related deadlines and pressures.
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Stay up to date with repair techniques, paint finishes, and related products.
  • Some work experience in the trade along with the basic educational requirements that would allow one to complete an apprenticeship program if required OR, a few years experience in the auto body industry.
  • Frame Straightening Experience considered an asset.
Other Related Skills:
  • Be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend to ensure effective communication with employees and customers.
  • General computer and software diagnostics skills.
  • The ability to withstand work-related deadlines and pressures.
  • Must be able to sit, kneel, lift, walk, and carry for extended periods.
  • Must be able to travel to the US for additional technical training
