The Role

Requirements Main Responsibilities
HR Matters:

  • Oversee recruitment processes, including interviewing and onboarding new staff.
  • Drive employee learning, training, and coaching programs.
  • Manage employee performance reviews, wage assessments, and enforce disciplinary actions.
  • Develop and communicate clear policies, including creating an Employee Handbook.
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws (e.g., maternity leave, holidays) aligned with global HR guidance.
  • Facilitate workplace investigations, health and safety compliance, and termination procedures.
  • Maintain collaboration with HR Headquarters (France) to align with global initiatives.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of internal HR systems/databases (One HR concept).
  • Manage monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Act as a key contact point to enhance employee engagement and connect executives with employees.
  • Build strategic talent plans to ensure the company's HR capacity supports business goals.
  • Stay updated on HR trends, best practices, and legal regulations, recommending process enhancements.

Internal Reporting:

  • Prepare and manage the annual HR budget (e.g., training, structure costs).
  • Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on HR activities, including team-building, sustainability initiatives, and training programs.
  • Analyze HR metrics and report actuals versus budget, with recommendations for deviations.
  • Key Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in HR management or equivalent.

Experience:

  • 5-10 years in HR or related fields, ideally in international or regional environments.
  • Hands-on experience with conflict resolution, workplace investigations, and disciplinary processes.
  • Proven success in implementing HR systems/databases.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Japanese labor law and relevant health/safety regulations.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with employees and stakeholders.
  • Proficient with HR tools, systems, and PCs.
  • Skilled in presentations and employee education programs.

Languages:

  • Fluent in Japanese; English proficiency preferred for communication with HQ.
