Overview:

Our client is looking for a professional In-House Counsel to join their team. This role reports to the President.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting with the preparation, risk assessment and review of new and existing contracts
• Acting as liaison among all parties for scheduling and the sharing of information
• Organizing and managing documents, including the creation of spreadsheets for information analysis
• Coordinating the collection, review and production of documents and responding to enquires
• Summarizing of contracts for upper management, with recommendations
• Researching issues/contracts using in-house files and outside reference sources
• Preparing statistics, findings, and facts to support and summarize findings

Qualifications:

• Law Degree or Paralegal certificate from an accredited program
• Bachelor's degree
• 2-3 years of experience as a paralegal/legal assistant in a law firm
• Experience drafting and correcting both large and small contracts
• Experience managing both large and small document productions
• Proficient with both word processing and spreadsheet software
• Municipal/City of Toronto contracts experience an asset
• Construction contract knowledge beneficial
• Excellent organizational skills
• Attention to detail
• Legal research and investigation skills
• Ability to follow direction and procedures
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to prioritize workload and assignments
• Self-starter
