The Department of Financial Protection and Innovation is recruiting for one permanent, full-time Information Technology Specialist II position in the Information Technology Division. Position may be located in the Sacramento, or San Francisco office.This recruitment may be used to fill subsequent vacancies of these positions in DFPI within the next 180 days.

Under general direction from the Information Technology Manager II, the Information Technology Specialist II serves as the department’s Enterprise Architect.

The incumbent plays a critical role in ensuring that the Information Technology Services Division’s (ITSD) IT strategy aligns with the business 0bjectives of the Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI).

The IT Enterprise Architect is responsible for developing and maintaining the architecture of the organization's IT systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and providing strategic guidance for technology investments. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders, establishing standards and governance, and optimizing technology resources to drive efficiency and innovation.

• Data Architecture : Describes how data is processed, stored, and utilized across the organization.
• Application Architecture : Provides a blueprint for individual applications to be deployed, their interactions, and their relationships to the core business processes.
• Technology Architecture : Outlines the hardware, software, and network infrastructure needed to support the deployment of core, mission-critical applications.
• Security Architecture : Works with the Information Security Unit to integrate security standards with the overall Enterprise Architecture strategy.
• Integration Architecture : Facilitates the interaction and data exchange between different applications and systems.
• Technical Workloads : Oversees the coordination of consultant resources with the DFPI Application Development and Network Operations teams on projects involving contracted system integrators. Assists with the design, development, and implementation of various initiatives within the Enterprise Architecture Unit, including Business Intelligence, Data Lake, Open AI initiatives, Data Management, Database administration, MS 365 Administration, and SharePoint.

CONFLICT OF INTEREST
This position is subject to Title 10, § 250.30 of the California Code of Regulations, the Department of Financial Protection and Innovation’s Conflict of Interest Regulations, the incumbent is required to submit a Statements of Economic Interests (Form 700) within 30 days of assuming office, annually by April 1st and within 30 days of leaving office.
