POSITION OVERVIEW
The client is looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in the design and implementation of electrical systems, particularly in industrial settings like the Food & Beverage industry. This position demands a deep understanding of electrical engineering principles and the ability to deliver high-quality designs on time while ensuring safety and compliance standards.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
· Registered Professional Engineer in Ontario (P.Eng).
· Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in industrial or manufacturing environments, preferably in Food & Beverage or Pharmaceuticals.
· Strong knowledge of HVAC controls and Ontario Electrical Safety Code.
· Proven experience with electrical system design, particularly in a consulting or project management capacity.
· Familiarity with complex electrical distribution networks, including cogeneration systems.
· Ability to travel to client sites as required, with reliable personal transportation.
· Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead the design, development, and validation of electrical systems and equipment in industrial settings.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects and engineers, to develop electrical power distribution designs for large-scale projects.
· Provide expertise in lighting, fire alarms, communication systems, and process control for both new and existing buildings.
· Manage projects involving electrical infrastructure, including high voltage (up to 44kV) power distribution.
· Perform detailed analysis and troubleshooting of technical issues, offering practical recommendations and solutions.
· Develop and review engineering specifications, contract documentation, and project progress reports.
· Ensure all designs adhere to industry codes, safety standards, and client requirements.
· Mentor and supervise junior engineers and technicians, reviewing and marking up designs to ensure accuracy and quality.
· Design primary and secondary power distribution systems, including high and low voltage equipment.
· Conduct site visits to inspect electrical installations, ensuring compliance with project specifications and regulatory standards.
· Serve as a technical consultant, both in-house and on-site, providing expert advice and troubleshooting support.
