Your Role

As a Gensler Designer , you will develop design solutions and provide project coordination for all project phases, from concept to construction. As a member of the Vancouver studio, you will be a part of a team that creates impactful and memorable experiences that will be remembered for a lifetime. We are looking for a designer with interiors technical detailing subject matter expertise who will focus on national and international projects.

What You Will Do

  • Working with Design Director(s) and project team(s), participate in all project phases, including planning and programming, conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents and production
  • Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies and other vendors to meet overall project objectives
  • Resolve complex design issues with innovative and practical solutions
  • Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and construction drawings
  • Assist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination
  • Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning program
  • Contribute to thought leadership, event and network attendance

Your Qualifications

  • Accredited degree in architecture, interior design, or as an architectural technologist required
  • 0-5 years of professional commercial architecture and/or interiors experience
  • Proficiency in the use of 2D/3D software, examples Revit, Enscape, AutoCAD, Rhino, SketchUp, Grasshopper, Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator. High levels of work experience in Revit required
  • Knowledge of materials, construction techniques, and local BC building codes
  • Strong graphic and visualization skills to communicate design ideas
  • Strong organizations skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices; Portfolios should include at least one project (especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, Passive House, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel, and/or Net Zero Building certification) with this particular focus, which we look forward to discussing during the interview

  • This is not a remote position. The successful candidate will be expected to live in, or relocate to, the area of the Vancouver, BC office upon acceptance.
