The Department of Mathematics at Brandeis University seeks a part-time instructor for the course Math 8a, âœIntroduction to Probability and Statistics" for the spring 2026 semester. The course examines discrete probability spaces, random variables, expectation, variance, approximation by the normal curve, sample mean and variance, and confidence intervals. This four-credit course fulfills quantitative reasoning and science requirements and is intended for undergraduates.
Requirements for this position: PhD or ABD in mathematics or related fields. Experience in teaching college-level math courses is preferred.
