Legal Affairs Manager – Premier Holding Company (Tokyo, Japan)Are you a highly skilled and experienced legal professional looking to take the next step in your career? I'm partnering with a premier holding company in Japan to find a dynamic Legal Affairs Manager to join their team in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.This pivotal role offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive legal support, ensure compliance, and manage diverse legal matters across various departments within a prominent organization.What you'll be doing:•Providing expert legal consultation and advice to all departments, collaborating with external law firms as needed.•Navigating a wide range of Japanese laws and regulations, including the Civil Code, Insurance Business Act, Personal Information Protection Act, Consumer Contract Act, Antimonopoly Act, Intellectual Property Act, Financial Instruments and Exchange Act, Financial Services Act, Banking Act, and Labor Act.•Reviewing and drafting various contracts, primarily in Japanese, with some in English.•Managing litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) processes, coordinating with attorneys, and reviewing critical documents.•Monitoring, interpreting, and implementing action plans for amendments to laws and regulations.•Developing and delivering impactful in-house legal training programs.•Providing crucial legal support and inter-group coordination for projects and common cases.•Overseeing subsidiary legal management.•Identifying and implementing workflow improvements within the legal department.Who we're looking for: We're seeking candidates who meet one of the following criteria:•You possess a lawyer's license and have at least 5 years of experience as an in-house lawyer or corporate legal affairs officer (any industry).•You have at least 5 years of experience as a legal affairs manager in the financial industry (insurance industry preferred). A lawyer's qualification is not required for this specific criterion.Ideally, you'll also be:•Proactive, independent, and communicative, capable of leading initiatives and adapting to new environments to achieve results.•Equipped with strong analytical skills to accurately grasp problems and drive practical solutions.•Able to provide expert legal advice through strong legal expertise, logical thinking, and clear writing.•Excellent at time management and prioritization, with the ability to respond quickly to urgent matters.What's in it for you? This is a permanent position with a highly competitive compensation package. The monthly base salary ranges from ¥680,000 to ¥900,000, with quarterly bonuses (4 times a year). The expected annual salary is ¥11,700,000 - ¥14,000,000, commensurate with your experience and ability.You'll also enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including a monthly workplace environment allowance and commuting expenses (up to ¥30,000).
