What is the opportunity?

As the Manager, Finance, you will be responsible for performing financial control, regulatory reporting, and financial reporting in compliance with the applicable laws, regulations, and accounting standards, as well as internal rules.

What will you do?

  • IFRS and Japanese GAAP compliance
  • General Ledger control and oversight; responsible for establishing effective and efficient internal control system (due process) to ensure accurate books and records and management accounts
  • GL reconciliation and attestation process; perform reconciliations, review and quality assurance testing of controls
  • Legal entity / statutory reporting including audit
  • Regulatory reporting to Japanese regulators (FSA, JSDA, FFAJ)
  • Regulatory capital management and monitoring
  • Review profit & loss and decomposition for Capital Markets businesses produced by the Centre of Excellence (COE) team. Collaboration with COE, Business Partners, and other finance stakeholders to resolve outstanding issues
  • Assist Head of Finance to prepare working papers in support of the annual tax returns and internal or external audit
  • Develop and update procedure manuals and ensure the appropriate procedures are placed in operation

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • CA or CPA accounting qualification
  • 5-10 years Banking / Financial Institution experience
  • Detailed working knowledge of IFRS and Japanese GAAP
  • Regulatory experience with Bank and/or Securities firm reporting
  • Business level of English is required

Nice-to-have

  • Highly developed PC skills – Microsoft programs
  • Audit background or experience
