Job Description

At New School Foods, our mission is to accelerate the transition to a kinder, healthier, alt-protein-first food system. Using our proprietary production technology, we create zero-compromise meat alternatives designed to enable global impact. Our healthy, whole-cut, plant-based filets are made to look, cook, taste and flake just like fish. All with a lower carbon footprint, and zero harm to the ocean.

About The Role

As our first marketing hire, this person will build the foundations for our growing brand. This is a role for someone who wants to build a strategy but is also comfortable creating content and executing all the steps to see that strategy through.

Key Responsibilities

Brand Building

  • Better define our brand voice
  • Create collateral that aligns with this brand voice

Canadian PR

  • Identify and leverage PR opportunities
  • Drive the creation of written, video and photo content

Social Media

  • Create photo and video content for instagram, linkedin, tiktok etc.
  • Engage and manage our online communities.

Events, Competitions, and Awards

  • Identify events for our team to participate in or showcase at
  • Design and order collateral including giveaway items, backdrops, etc
  • Organize private events and tastings

Data Tracking

  • Track success of initiatives.
  • Share progress with senior leadership and team.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of demonstrated experience in marketing for startups, consulting, or agency.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication is a necessity.
  • Superb organizational and project management skills.
  • Experience in startups or restaurants is a strong plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
