- Executes against the Medical Affairs plan for Japan.
Provides scientific education and training initiatives across Allergan Aesthetics (AA) portfolios of
BOTOX Vista®, JUVEDERM® and new products. Performs field visits with key physicians and stakeholders, organizing advisory board meetings, facilitating clinical trials, and serving as the medical resource for both external and internal stakeholders. - This position is a non-promotional role.
The primary focus is providing Healthcare Professionals with fair and balanced scientific information. - As an internal medical/technical/scientific resource, the role has the opportunity to engage with AA customers and ultimately impact the success of the business.
The role requires competency in practical aspects of patient care, and the ability to use medical and scientific information to facilitate engagement of physicians and others in the clinical and basic scientific issues relevant to AA products. - A high level of travel/field time is to be expected within this position (approximately 60-70% of time spent outside the office depending on the business need).
Medical Plan Execution (20%)
- Responsible for successful execution of the country medical plan on timely manner with Medical Advisors.
- Provide oversight of medical information activities in the country and support as required for the technical and scientific content of medical information enquiries.
- Ensure all medical activities are compliant with appropriate SOP’s, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) ICH guidelines and all applicable local guidelines and legislations.
External Engagement (60%)
- Build long-term relationships with External Experts (EEs) discussing safety, efficacy, and data gaps
- Identify new EEs for future engagement and involve EEs with Allergan as advisors, investigators, trainers, speakers
- Reactive response to Medical Information Requests (MIRs) from EEs
- Provide Speaker and Procedure Training Support
- Gather Insights from EEs and share appropriately internally
- Attend key Conference and professional society engagements and generate conference and scientific session reports. Schedule meetings and Networking Events with EEs at Conference
Research Su pport (5%)
- Identify and evaluate potential investigators for future AA studies
- May provide education or procedure training to study sites.
- Disseminate clinical data to study investigators as requested by AA Medical & Clinical teams
- Provide scientific support at AA study sites and investigator meetings as requested
- Facilitate EE/HCP understanding of AA sponsored research and IIT strategies and processes
Training and Education (5%)
- Develop and maintain expertise through review of Scientific Literature & training materials
- Assist customization of scientific materials (slide decks, etc.)
Professional and Personal Development (10%)
- Assess performance levels, identify root causes and develop action plans for continuous improvement for areas of responsibility.
- Implement the knowledge and skills gained in AA training programs to work practice and follow up.
- Continue to develop and update product knowledge through reading textbooks, journal articles, and keep up to date with relevant scientific knowledge and participate and work in events including congress, symposia, field visits, training programs and be prepared to travel to the relevant location, where the function is required.
- Take responsibilities in company projects and adapt him/herself to the changing or new work conditions and requirements.
資格
- Experience working within the pharmaceutical industry (not limited to Medical Affairs) or within clinical research is preferred
- Relevant therapeutic area knowledge experience desirable (Aesthetic Medicine, Dermatology, etc.)
- Intermediate English skill (Reading, writing and speaking)
- Experience working collaboratively and cross-functionally in a matrixed structure, supporting multiple stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and convey clinical and non-clinical technical information effectively to individuals with varying degrees of scientific acumen.
- Demonstrated strong presentation and teaching skills with ability to effectively share information with others
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong relationships; to lead, engage and influence
- Experience applying analytical skills, to critically evaluate and effectively communicate key clinical data
- Preferably degree in medicine or pharmacy, biology or other relevant life sciences
