Job Description

Mortgage Loan Originators are the vital sales force responsible for originating and servicing residential mortgage loans. In this role, MLOs are required to be licensed in each state they operate, adhering to local licensing requirements. MLOs ensure the smooth and efficient processing of loans throughout all stages of the transaction.

Primary Responsibilities:

Originate a variety of residential mortgage loan products while cultivating a network of industry and related industry partners.
Conduct thorough research and analysis of collateral, borrower creditworthiness, and other key aspects of the loan file to ensure accuracy.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

As a licensed MLO, you will be responsible for marketing and originating residential mortgage loan business, ensuring all phases of the loan process comply with company and regulatory guidelines. The expected goal is to close a minimum of three loans per month.

Perform initial research to assess mortgage eligibility and determine the appropriate loan products for clients.

Provide excellent customer service by securing all required documents to move loan files into processing. This may involve collaboration with a Loan Partner or handling the process independently.

Regularly update and manage a marketing database to source new loan opportunities.

Specific Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the Marketing Director to develop and implement marketing campaigns aimed at expanding your prospect base. Ensure all loan process phases meet company and regulatory standards.

Stay up to date with various loan options, conduct research to find competitive rates, and ensure clients understand the documentation needed during the application process.

Take ownership of gathering all necessary documents and application materials from the borrower, ensuring completeness before submitting to processing. You'll also maintain clear communication with clients through the closing process and attend client closings personally.

Work closely with the Marketing Department on lead generation and explore new opportunities by utilizing the marketing database.
