Job Description

Forum Research and its mystery shopping division Service Metrics, have been hired by the Newfoundland & Labrador Liquor Corporation to perform a series of mystery shops at liquor and cannabis stores across the province. These shops will test whether retailers are checking for ID appropriately.

What qualifications do I need to be a mystery shopper for this project?

  1. Mystery shoppers must be between 19 and 23 years of age.
  2. They must have valid, government issued photo ID.

What does a NLC mystery shopper do?

  1. Choose from a list of liquor and/or cannabis retailers in your area and let us know which locations you can visit.
    • Our office will assign these "shops" to your shopper profile
  2. Visit your assigned stores at a time of your choosing.
    • Act like a normal customer
    • Bring an item to checkout and attempt to purchase
    • Only show ID if asked
    • Complete purchase and exit the store (purchased items are yours to keep)
  3. Login to your shopper profile and complete a shop report consisting of:
    • respond to a brief questionnaire
    • upload support documents (receipt pics, etc.)

What is my compensation?

  1. You'll earn $20 for each shop you complete.
    • If a purchase is made, up to $15 reimbursement is also included
    • Mileage and/or travel compensation can be negotiated with our office if you are available for a shop outside of your home area

What is the payment schedule?

We have two pay periods per month, and you can choose to receive your compensation by cheque, or by PayPal transfer. These are the pay periods:

  1. 1st to the 15th
  2. 16th to the last day of the month

Payments are mailed/transferred within 7 business days of the end of each pay period. This means that payment for shops completed in period #1 go out around the 22nd and payments for work completed in period #2 go out around the 7th of the following month.
