Primary Responsibility:

The Analyst will play a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives, managing financial operations, and supporting special projects across the archdiocese and its related entities. This position requires a combination of financial expertise, technical proficiency, analytical skills, and strong communication abilities, including the creation of PowerPoint presentations and executive reports. The Analyst will synthesize raw data into meaningful insights, prepare accurate reports, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO)’s mission.

This role is ideal for a proactive self-starter who thrives in dynamic environments, excels at translating complex data into actionable insights, and contributes meaningfully to the organization’s financial and operational strategies. When data is limited or unavailable, the individual must rely on their expertise, research, and past project insights to develop effective, solutions-oriented approaches.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct financial analysis, including data gathering, trend analysis, and forecasting, to support strategic decision-making.
  • Preparing accurate and timely financial reports, statements, and presentations.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to analyze financial data and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Contribute to the development of long-term financial forecasts and strategic financial plans.
  • Assisting in budgeting/forecasting and variance analysis processes.
  • Ensuring compliance with finance and accounting principles.
  • Contributing to ad-hoc financial projects and initiatives as assigned.

 

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA/MS) or certifications such as CPA or CFA strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), business analytics, or a related field; experience in a corporate or large not-for-profit organization is a plus.
  • In-depth understanding of financial operations, with a focus on liquidity management, budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing financial performance and trends. Ability to generate insights into past performance and future expectations, and prepare comprehensive materials for board meetings. Experience with leadership-initiated projects is a plus.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial modeling, quantitative analysis, and preparing executive-level reports and presentations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Office 365 functions, pivot tables, lookup formulas, conditional statements, and other analytical tools; familiarity with Power BI or similar visualization tools is a plus.
  • Strong technical proficiency in drafting professional documents using Microsoft Word and PDF tools.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to present complex information clearly and succinctly to executive leadership.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently while fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Demonstrated capacity to quickly assimilate knowledge, adapt to new tools, and deliver high-quality work under minimal supervision.

 

Compensation range for this position is: $90,000 – 100,000 annually.

This position is considered exempt and not eligible for overtime.
