The Opportunity

Leavitt Machinery is looking for a driven Outside Sales Representative for our Construction Sales & Rentals Representative position in Kamloops, British Columbia . As the Construction Sales & Rentals Representative, you will have the ability to grow the customer base surrounding Kamloops. This position offers a large territory, spanning from Merritt to Golden, and a significant opportunity for career growth and advancement for an aspiring equipment sales professional.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

As the Construction Sales & Rentals Representative your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the overall sales and rental strategy and managing the related sales plan for your assigned territory
  • Developing business relationships with top customer accounts by identifying sales opportunities and presenting innovative solutions to customers
  • Managing target customer accounts, including prospecting and following up on sales leads
  • Identifying and building relationships with decision makers within existing accounts, developing an ongoing relationship strategy and establishing Leavitt Machinery as a trusted advisor
  • Turning leads into sales, including successfully negotiating pricing and closing deals
  • Providing input for the successful management of target customer opportunities while ensuring alignment with the overall account strategy
  • Coordinating with product experts to identify and capitalize on expansion and cross-selling opportunities within existing accounts
  • Conducting follow-ups with customers regarding orders, quotes, and services requested
  • Travelling within the territory as needed

Required Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:

  • 2-3 years of experience in B2B sales is considered an asset
  • Post-secondary education in Sales, Business Management, or a related discipline is considered an asset
  • Background in construction or material handling knowledge considered an asset
  • Strong relationship-building skills, negotiation skills, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent customer service skills and a genuine interest in identifying and presenting innovative solutions for customers
  • Personable and confident with a willingness to be coached and continuously learn and grow
  • Excellent organizational skills and planning skills, as well as the ability to work effectively independently and as a part of a team
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook and Excel
  • Previous experience working with a CRM system considered an asset
  • Maintaining a valid driver’s license is required
  • Ability to travel within Canada

The base pay range for this role is: $40,000 annually plus bridge and uncapped commission (OTE ~$100,000 in the first year)
