Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Execution:
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
    • Define project objectives, deliverables, and success criteria.
    • Manage project scope, identify and mitigate risks, and proactively address issues.
    • Ensure adherence to project management methodologies and best practices.
    • Track project progress, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for project related communications with stakeholders in both Japanese and English.
    • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between project teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors.
    • Conduct regular project meetings, prepare meeting agendas and minutes, and follow up on action items.
    • Translate technical and business requirements between Japanese and English as needed.
  • Team Leadership and Management:
    • Lead and motivate project teams, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery.
    • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, and monitor their progress.
    • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.
    • Foster a collaborative and positive team environment.
  • Risk and Issue Management:
    • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues.
    • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
    • Escalate critical issues to management as needed.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards and requirements.
    • Implement quality control processes and procedures.
    • Conduct regular quality reviews.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
    • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment on project goals.
    • Provide regular project updates and solicit feedback from stakeholders

Job Qualification: 

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field . PMP or other relevant project management certification is highly desirable.

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager, with a proven track record of successfully delivering IT software projects.
    • Experience managing projects in a Japanese business environment is required.
    • Experience with Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
  • Skills:
    • Language Proficiency: Native or near native fluency in both Japanese and English (reading, writing, and speaking). JLPT N1 certification is a plus.
    • Project Management: Strong project planning, execution, monitoring, and controlling skills.

Language Skills: Fluent level Japanese (N1 and above) and Business level English
