We facilitate the collaboration of individuals, groups and institutions representing the diversity of the community to pursue research questions and training opportunities to understand and prevent violence and abuse. We serve local, national and international communities by producing useful information and tools to assist in the daily work to prevent and stop violence towards women and children and vulnerable adults.
The Research Associate will apply their expertise and knowledge to support the Centre for Research & Education on Violence Against Women and Children (CREVAWC)’s projects, the progress of the Community of Practice, and various knowledge mobilization activities research projects, and will carry out independent research including designing, conducting, and analyzing research to assist the Centre in achieving their research outcomes. The position will support and operationalize research, participate in the development of research and project plans, prepare ethics applications, develop and implement research tools (e.g., surveys, interview guides) to evaluate key issues, coordinate data collection and analysis, and document the collective impact of investments. Additionally, the role will consult with team members and Community of Practice members on research design, methodology, and analysis, and will provide support, training, guidance and supervision, as required, to research staff and students and in resolving issues that arise in the research environment. The Research Associate will conduct literature reviews, synthesize findings, and contribute to the development of manuscripts, background papers, and other knowledge mobilization products.
