Job Description

We are seeking a Software Developer with expertise in IBM Cognos Analytics v12.x, Oracle 19+, and Redshift to support business intelligence (BI) reporting, data modeling, and performance optimization. This hybrid role requires three days onsite and two days remote and involves developing data models, creating reports, and optimizing SQL queries to enhance decision-support systems.

Responsibilities
•Develop and maintain Cognos BI reports and dashboards using Cognos Analytics v12.x.
•Convert user requirements into business models for BI implementation.
•Design, build, and test dimensional data models for Data Warehouse and Data Mart.

•Implement metadata, user groups, security models, and folder structures for BI objects.
•Develop and maintain Cognos Framework Manager Models.
•Write and optimize complex SQL, PL/SQL, and Redshift queries.
•Create and manage materialized views and stored procedures for performance optimization.
•Support SQL tuning and database performance enhancement.
•Assist with data integration, transformation, and ETL processes.
•Test, debug, and resolve BI reporting issues.
•Document test cases and ensure full functionality testing.
•Deploy reports and metadata models using Cognos Framework Manager.
•Support system implementation and user testing.
•Conduct training sessions and demos for end-users and business analysts.
•Provide technical documentation for data preparation and performance monitoring.
•Support business enhancements and change management processes.
•Collaborate with business intelligence teams, database administrators, and IT staff to align BI solutions with business needs.

Qualifications
Required Experience
•5+ years of experience in Cognos Analytics v12.x (development, testing, and administration).
•Strong SQL expertise in Oracle 19+ and Redshift, including complex queries and optimization.
•Hands-on experience in data warehouse and data mart development.
•Expertise in Framework Manager modeling and dimensional data modeling.
•Experience with BI tools like Power BI and Tableau.
•Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools like JIRA and Confluence.
•Experience with Linux, cloud environments (Azure, AWS), and BI security models.
Preferred Skills
•Experience with performance tuning in Cognos and database administration.
•Proficiency in JavaScript for advanced Cognos report customization.
•Familiarity with public sector data governance and compliance standards.
