The Role

• Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements in compliance with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and JGAAP (Japanese Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and completeness across multiple entities.
• Provide technical accounting guidance and support for complex transactions, ensuring compliance with IFRS and JGAAP regulations.
• Coordinate intercompany transactions and reconciliations across global subsidiaries.
• Lead external audits, working closely with auditors to ensure proper documentation and smooth audit processes.
• Ensure compliance with local tax and regulatory reporting requirements, including liaison with tax advisors and local authorities.
• Develop and implement robust internal controls and processes to ensure compliance with SOX or similar frameworks.
• Monitor changes in IFRS and JGAAP standards, providing recommendations for necessary adjustments and training to relevant stakeholders.
• Collaborate with other departments, including FP&A and Treasury, to deliver accurate and insightful financial reporting and analysis.
• Mentor and provide leadership to accounting staff, fostering team development and a culture of continuous improvement.

Y our Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• 7+ years of relevant accounting experience, including expertise in IFRS and JGAAP; experience in a multinational corporation is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of technical accounting for complex areas such as revenue recognition, leasing, and consolidations.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Workday) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate complex data and accounting concepts to non-finance stakeholders effectively.
• Fluent in both English and Japanese
