This role will be located in Vancouver, BC and is hybrid with a minimum of 3 days per week onsite.

What you'll do

• Design and develop tools and pipelines to streamline continuous software delivery for internal scientific software
• Build and maintain infrastructure to support high-performance computing (HPC) cluster and web applications
• Oversee the administration, optimization and monitoring of software supporting scientific research
• Creating and managing standardized software development environments for the Software Development and Computation Biology teams.

What you'll bring

• 5+ years of relevant work experience
• Superior development skills in high level languages (C/C++, Python, Go etc.) Expert proficiency in Linux system administration
• Practical experience with infrastructure deployment using Foreman and Puppet
• Proficiency in deploying Cloud based infrastructure in AWS
• Good understanding of AWS services, in particular compute, storage, database and observability.
• Strong knowledge of DevOps principles, practices and tools
• Experience with software build tools (Make, CMake, Autotools etc.)
• Containerization tools and technologies (Docker, Singularity etc.)
• Good knowledge of computer networking, protocols, cybersecurity and cryptography fundamentals is implied.

Additional assets:

• Relevant certification (AWS, cybersecurity, network administration etc.)
• Experience working in multiplatform user environments (Windows, Linux, MacOS)
• Prometheus and Grafana monitoring
• Experience deploying and maintaining computation clusters (Sun Grid Engine, Parallel Cluster, SLURM, Dask)
• Database administration

The base salary range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the location for which the job is posted and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by a variety of factors and the salary offered may vary depending on the successful candidate’s location and qualifications (including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, education, training, skills, and experience).

98,000 - 150,000 CAD per year (Vancouver)
