Currently, we are seeking an Senior Software Tester to join our growing team in Halifax, NS or St. John's NL.

Reporting to the Software Quality Control Manager, this individual will be part of the software development team with responsibility to assist in the design, development and execution of product test cases, identifying and preparing test environments with supporting technical data along with implementing and enhancing automated testing solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assigned responsibilities include:

• To assist in the analysis of design specifications in order to produce comprehensive test scripts and scenarios for expected results to be performed manually and using automated testing tools.
• To assist in the system, functional and regression testing of existing and new software enhancements to ensure they meet design specifications, business requirements and to identify any possible impacts caused by changes.
• Recording of test results.
• To assist in the verification and evidence of reproduction of any reported faults in existing software.
• To assist in the testing of fixes required for reported faults, including tests for possible impacts from changes.
• Identifying and preparing test environments.
• Communicating progress of testing activities to the Quality Control Manager and other stakeholders.

Experience/Skills/Competencies

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Diploma in IT with equivalent IT experience
• Minimum 7 years' experience working in a quality control / assurance / software testing
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, appropriate to a given audience (technical, functional, etc.)
• A firm understanding of testing/product quality processes, and tools and methods.
• Able to multitask effectively
• Manual testing skills and the ability to write scripts.
• Have excellent time management, task planning and prioritization skills
• Highly collaborative and able to give/receive critical feedback.
• Ability to learn new applications quickly.
• Knowledge of automated testing tools would be an asset.
