Position Summary...

The Specialist, Merchandising ensures accurate and compliant pricing execution across all channels, supports Category Managers with merchandise planning, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize retail strategies.

What you'll do...

The Specialist, Merchandising manages pricing compliance and integrity across various promotions and events, ensuring that all pricing tactics are executed accurately online and in stores. This role may involve running compliance tests, price audits, and event downloads to facilitate retail changes. The Specialist also investigates and resolves pricing issues, providing clear explanations and suggestions for improvement to merchants.

In collaboration with Category Managers, the Specialist supports assortment planning, merchandise event execution, and advertisement proofing. This includes managing item files, creating and tracking vendor-funded promotions, and maintaining accurate merchandising templates. The role also involves gathering and analyzing data to support merchandising decisions, utilizing various systems and tools.

The Specialist, Merchandising plays a critical role in vendor management, providing training on systems, initiating agreements, and ensuring compliance. This position supports the compliance group on product recalls and addresses merchandising inquiries from stores, facilitating efficient resolution of issues such as stock discrepancies and modular maintenance.

The Specialist role also supports the maintenance, execution, and upload of screen content for the Hot case category, working cross-functionally with the Marketing department.

Additionally, the Specialist may work with cross-functional eCommerce teams to optimize vendor content, ensuring seamless integration between brick-and-mortar and online merchandising. This includes content onboarding, facilitating vendor set-ups, and assisting with new item listings to enhance the overall customer experience.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education required
  • Minimum 1-2 years' relevant merchandising experience
  • Retail or eCommerce experience is an asset
  • Proficient in undertaking and interpreting research
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications ie: excel
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
