Company Profile

Our client is a global renowned investment management firm with strong presence in Japan.

The Role

Offer compliance guidance and support for ongoing operations and future business initiatives in Japan, ensuring alignment with current laws, regulations, and regulatory expectations.

Act as a liaison with Japanese regulatory bodies, such as the Financial Services Agency (JFSA), to manage compliance with legal obligations, respond to inquiries, handle filings and notifications, and coordinate on-site inspections.

Track relevant regulatory developments affecting the Japan business and deliver timely and practical compliance advice.

Review marketing materials, documentation, and external communications to ensure compliance with applicable laws and industry standards.

Maintain and update the Compliance Manual and related policies to reflect current regulatory requirements and internal governance standards.

Manage licensing requirements, oversee the compliance monitoring program, and supervise tasks assigned to the Group's Compliance support functions.

Advise on compliance matters related to client complaints, operational issues, breaches, and incidents, including recommending measures to prevent recurrence.

Provide compliance input for internal and external due diligence efforts and respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs).

Review and verify the accuracy of regulatory submissions, such as Substantial Shareholder Reports.

Respond to internal and external audit requests and inquiries.

Perform regular compliance risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.

Create and deliver compliance training sessions to ensure employee awareness of regulatory responsibilities.

Assist the Head of Compliance, Japan in maintaining a robust compliance framework and fostering a strong compliance culture.

Contribute to local, regional, and global compliance projects, initiatives, and other tasks as needed.

Your Skills

*8+ years of experience in JFSA Regulatory Compliance
*Experience in Buy-Side firms
*Proficient in English communication
