An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 staff Nurse to join the neurology team within ward 53 at Queen Elizabeth university hospital. Wards 53 are part of a regional service that is provided to the west of Scotland. The department provides a 5-day investigatory service to patients with a variety of neurological conditions. Ward 53 offers an ambulatory care- based setting with a bespoke video telemetry suite offering investigation and diagnostic assessment of seizure activity to provide clarity around diagnosis and treatment provision.
The ward has a bed complement of 16 and 12 treatment chairs for disease modifying therapies and intravenous treatments that cannot currently be provided in the community such as NIV therapy, intravenous immunoglobulins, and numerous complex drug infusions. The unit consists of two 5 bedded areas, 3 Video telemetry (VT) rooms, 3 single rooms and 12 chair day case area. The majority of the patients are outpatients who attend the morning of their treatment/diagnostic test.
You must be able to demonstrate a commitment to patient-centred care, continuing professional development, an understanding of our service, with the specific needs of our patient. You will demonstrate flexibility, and a willingness to participate in service progression and growth.
