The Vancouver School Board welcomes applications for the position of: Permanent Supervision Aide Hours: 2.5 hours per day from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Working Months : September to June each year
Salary: $582.36 biweekly (plus 5.8% allowance for statutory holidays)
Location : Permanent positions are currently available at the following schools: Shaughnessy Elementary, Queen Elizabeth Elementary, and Queen Alexandra Elementary.

In this role you will be: - Responsible for supervising students during recess and lunch, indoors and outdoors, in all kinds of weather.
- Ensuring student safety and that students comply with school rules.
- Intervening in potentially unsafe play situations and facilitate conflict resolutions between students.
- Required to supervise students between recess and lunch, ensuring appropriate behaviour and completion of teacher assigned work.
- Walking and standing for the duration of the shift, which is mostly outdoors.
- Required to circulate the school grounds, focus on your surroundings and remain alert at all times.
Qualifications: - Experience working with children in large groups
- Good communication skills
- Excellent conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather
- Ability to speak languages common to ESL students is an asset
