BCGEU: $71,846 - $115,129 per annum (prorated if part-time).

Starting Salary

Faculty are placed on the BCGEU salary scale based on education, experience and placement criteria as outlined in the Collective Agreement, to an initial maximum of $89,412 per annum

Duties:

  • Provide daily instruction as well as curriculum development as required. The focus of instruction is a combination of theoretical study and practical application.

Required Qualifications:

Three to five years' recent experience working in a clerical/administrative support position in an office environment. One to two years' current teaching experience in an office administration-related field in a post-secondary setting. An acceptable combination of related education and experience teaching adults may be considered. Proven ability in classroom management.

  • Demonstrated current experience with computer applications and office procedures.
  • Thorough working knowledge of computer applications (Office365 programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral. Demonstrated experience in meeting determined outcomes and OADM evaluation standards.
  • A high level of energy and enthusiasm is essential.
  • Proven positive interpersonal skills in dealing with students. Sensitivity to the needs of a wide variety of adult students returning to education.
  • Willingness and ability to work effectively as part of a team comprised of instructors, administrators, support staff and students.
  • For Practicum course: Must possess a valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and have a confirmed satisfactory driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in a related field from an appropriately accredited institution.
  • Three to five years' current teaching experience directly related to office administration skills in a post-secondary setting.
  • Experience delivering curriculum in distance-delivery formats including web-based learning management systems such as D2L.
