The Unit Clerk performs a variety of duties in support of the health care team including processing physician orders and liaising with other departments. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 408 St. Michael's Collective Agreement.
Must have a Certificate from a recognized training program which includes a practicum component. A course in Medical Terminology is required. Must have at least two to three years directly related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:Unit Clerk certificate or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institution required. Related experience in a hospital environment required.
Preferred Qualifications:One to two years directly related experience is preferred. Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain efficient while experiencing multiple interruptions. Recent experience and knowledge in Connect Care scheduling, vax and Netcare applications preferred.
