The Opportunity
Our team of 17 Anesthesiologists practicing both general and specialty skills is looking for a full-time physician to join them following a successful practice assessment locum. This collegial team encourages personal development and works with state-of-the-art equipment. The following specialties are represented in Peterborough: Vascular, Orthopedics, General Surgery, Gynecology,
Ear Nose and Throat, Plastics, Ophthalmology, Maxillary facial/Dental and Urology. We provide coverage for 12 operating rooms and the Department of Surgical Services performs 21,000 procedures yearly. Beyond the OR, other areas of involvement include obstetrics pre-anesthetic clinic, endoscopy, pain clinic and acute pain management services. Remuneration is via fee-for-service billing to the Ontario Health Insurance Plan ( OHIP ). Minimum expected annual earnings for a full-time practicing Anesthesiologist working at our hospital and in our region is more than $450,000.

Position Qualifications:
• Currently registered with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
• Fellow Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
• Strong interpersonal skills ant ability to work effectively with physicians, nursing staff, patients, directors, managers and the community as required.
• Eligible for staff privileges at Peterborough Regional Health Centre.
• Evidence of ongoing continued medical education.
• Demonstrated interest in patient safety and quality improvement.
